Terry Brennan

Terry currently lives in Little River, SC with his family. A self taught artist with a passion for all mediums of the arts.

His current series of mixed media 3 dimensional work titled, Fish Chum Master “Pieces”, came from a strong desire to express his artistic vision through a sculptural medium with impulse as his guide. Using repurposed materials ranging from household items and objects from past projects, including urethane board he let his creative instinct direct him and the first piece became a fish. Many of the sculptures are fish because of the wide audience drawn to the sea and its creatures, very young children and art critics seem to study the pieces with interest and enjoyment.

The process always begins with a single item, whether it be a broken chair, a rake or a discarded silver bowl it will steer him in the direction for a unique and one of a kind sculpture. Then each one is artistically painted to bring them to life either through realistic or quirky colors. These creatures can be displayed anywhere desired due to the materials and light weight of each creation. Each Fish Chum Master “Piece” maintains a constant balance between the idea of the creature and the use of the unorthodox material to keep the viewer intrigued and curious. Art is limited only by ones unwillingness to explore the materials available.

Terry’s work is now in 8 galleries in North and South Carolina and growing rapidly.   More work can be viewed on Facebook at Artist Tree Studio
