Janet Powers

Inspired by the landscapes of her home, the coast of Georgia, Janet Powers has painted  salt marsh scenes exclusively since 1997.  Powers says that she was attracted to these landscapes because of their vast and seemingly never-ending spaciousness.  With no people and few structures represented in her work, Janet strives to portray the “vitality and spirit” of the land itself and create mood with her depiction of changes in the light, the tides, the air, and the seasons.
