Online Auction Instructions and Rules
 
The auction begins at Noon on Monday July 18, 2011 and
ends at Noon on Friday July 22, 2011.

Bidding and Terms of Sale:
All bidders submit a confidential bid to the auction house (City Art Gallery) for the maximum price they are willing to pay for the lot. Bidders will not know the bid of any other participant. The highest bidder pays the price they submitted, if it meets the reserve.

A reserve is the confidential minimum sales price established by the auction house.  If bids on a lot fail to reach the reserve, the lot will not be sold.  Auction reserve price is good only for the duration of the auction.

You bid by simply clicking on the Bid button next to each lot.
That will take you directly to the bidding form.  Select the auction item that you are bidding on in the drop down menu. The form will be sent to the City Art Gallery.

Current high bid will be updated daily.In the case of identical high bids, the earliest bid left with the auction house wins.

All bidder names and bids are held in the strictest confidence. Bidders will not know the bid of any other participant. Each item requires a separate bid.  You may bid on as many items as you would like.

If you are the successful high bidder we will contact you no later than the end of the business day Friday July 22, 2011 by phone or email.

The successful bidder is responsible for North Carolina sales tax, a 5% Buyers Premium, and shipping costs (if applicable).  If the successful bidder is from out of state and/or the lot is to be shipped out of state, North Carolina sales tax is not applicable.  

A bid is a contract to buy.  That means every purchase - with rare and specific exceptions – is a final sale.  

Payment and Collection of Property:
Cash, Checks, Visa and  MasterCard are accepted.  All payments are due within two (2) business days after notification of being the winning bidder.  We reserve the right to hold all goods paid for by check until payment has cleared.  The buyer may pick up their property from the Gallery Monday-Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, or Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm
